By Adrian Lau – Totoro Supplies 多多龍
Welcome to the wonderful world of small animals. These lovely animals make wonderful pets.
Each animal have their own character so please choose your pets carefully. Let me begin by
briefly introducing to you the different types of animals.
Chinchillas
Chinchillas have the softest fur among all the animals, which means they have a very thick fur coat.
This in turns means that they require a cool and dry environment. It is best to keep your chinsin 24hrs air-conditioning in Hong Kong’s hot and humid weather. Chins need to bath in very fine bath dust daily to keep their coat smooth and tangle free.
Chins are more suitable for older children about 10years and above.
Rabbits
Rabbits are very common and lovely pets. They are very easily kept if they are fed properly.
Rabbits should be fed a diet consisting mainly of timothy hay and a little rabbit pellets.
Rabbits are suitable for young children about 5years and above. Adult supervision is always
recommended when a young child is playing with a rabbit to prevent injury to both rabbit and
child.
Hamsters
Hamsters are one of the most commonly kept pets, as they require very little space and attention. Hamsters should be fed a varied diet to ensure proper nutrition. Never feed a hamster only sunflower seeds and table scraps.
Hamster is suitable for very young children but adult supervision and guidance is always
recommended.
We will like to stress a very important point to all pet owners. Pets are meant for life so
please think very carefully before you bring any animal home.
Please try to adopt an animal from your local animal shelter like to SPCA. IF you must buy an animal please buy one from a reputable Pet shop.
One final point is to ensure that you have already gathered enough information before bringing an animal home. The Internet is a very good place for information but we strongly recommend that you at least reference your local website to one from the USA just to be sure the information provided are correct.
Cheers to Chinchilla.HK !
